It doesn't have to take a lot of time, space or even know-how to grow your own food. From container gardening to rooftop gardening to urban foraging, even the most space-starved urbanites have options when it comes to getting hyper local food you grow yourself.
On 7 July, 2-5 p.m., Sugarleaf allies with the Organic Certification Center of the Philippines (OCCP) with a practical workshop that will open your eyes on how green your thumb can be and how your creative mind can make wonders in your own home. Lani Limpin, executive director of the OCCP and U.P. educated Beverly Joy Valle-Santos, experienced horticulturist and landscape consultant will share their practical experiences on organic gardening and its aesthetics.
Beverly supervised the verdant landscaping of the Shangri-La Boracay. At the end of the workshop participants will learn all about organic agriculture and urban gardening, its advantage, an intro on urban landscaping, production and management of garden crops in an aesthetic manner.
Whether for simple relaxation therapy or to create your own herb and vegetable garden for home consumption, the benefits of learning organic farming and Sugarleaf's other workshops far outweigh the cost. And you get to meet new friends and bond with your loved ones.
